The Store Started
Pressing Its Own

Sixeleven Records, 611 DnB and Society Hill Recordings — 1995 to 2005.

1995–2005 Sixeleven

A record store that knows what sells eventually presses records. 611 became Sixeleven Records — credited on labels as both “611” and spelled out — and ran two more imprints alongside it: 611 DnB for drum & bass, and Society Hill Recordings, a deep house label started in 2000 and run out of the third floor of the same building.

The most consequential thing it released was the Sixeleven DJ Mixseries: a shop-run mix CD line that handed volumes to Dieselboy, Derrick L. Carter and Charles Feelgood. A record store on 4th Street was putting out mix CDs by people who headlined nationally.

The catalogue below runs to forty-eight releases across the three imprints — vinyl, CD, digital and a long run of shop cassettes. Most of the twelve-inches are Nigel Richards’ own productions.

Catalogue verified against the label’s Discogs pages. Numbers 611-01, 611-02, 611-05, 611-06 and 611-13 are unaccounted for — if you have one, tell us. A dash in the year column means the release carries no date. “Dangerous Liasons” is spelled as it is on the record.
